I am researching the Dixon family from North Carolina. The decendents of William Riley Dixon, who was my paternal
grandfather and was born May 06, 1871 in Raleigh, Wake, N.C. and died in Pensacola, Escambia, FL July 04,
1940. He married Mattie S. Copeland and they had 5 sons: Veter, Lawrence, Elisha, Eddie and William: and 3 daughters; Teretha
Marie, Eula Mae and Daisy. They stopped in Georgia a short while , then moved to Florala, Alabama; then to Munson, Florida,
(where I was born) Finally settling in Pensacola, Florida. It is a possibility that I have found the North Carolina connection
that I needed here. I found a Henry Dixon in the 1880 Census who had an 8 year old son named William. They lived in Olds,
Greene County, NC. The information looks good, but I need a connecting fact before I can accept it for the Record.
I'm also researching the Henry Rothwell family. He was my maternal grandfather. The 1900 census indicates that he was
also born in Raliegh, Wake, NC (about 1861) In 1900 he was living in Hardy's Bridge (Geneve County) Alabama, but had
also made a short stay in Georgia (Sycamore and Red Rock) He later moved on to Florala and Hacoda, Alabama; then settled
in Munson, Santa Rosa County, Florida. He died Sept.17, 1944. He married Mattie Sealy and they had 7 daughters; Mattie
Lee, Ethel, Lawney, Francina, Lillie Mae, Annie and Johnnie Mae; and 1 son, Allie: I have found that North Carolina
Connection here. Lasky and Mary Rothwell of Conetuck, Pender, North Carolina (1970 and 1980 U.S. Census)
are my Great Grand Parents on the Rothwell side. James and Mary Sealy of Lumberton, Robeson, North Carolina are Grandmother
Mattie (Sealy) Rothwell's Parents, therefore are my other Great-grand parents on this side of the family.
